Solo three, trick 1. You are P4, a Defender, and play last. P1 led the K, the Declarer (P2) trumped with the XX, P3 overtrumped with the Skus, and you have no Heart. Your goal is to bring the Defenders as many pips as possible in this trick and keep your Moon.

Which Tarok do you play?
Answer
I. P3’s Skus has won this trick for your side, and when your side has already won a trick, you should play a card with many pips into it: the Pagat adds 4. The Moon has 4 pips as well, but the Moon is lost to the Skus even when a fellow Defender’s Skus captures it, minus 4 Victory Points for you. The V wins the same trick for no extra pips.
Rule: When your side has already won a trick, you should play a card with many pips into it. The Moon can only be lost to the Pagat in a Fairy Tale Trick, or to the Skus in any other trick, even if it is your Partner’s Skus that captures it.
