Do you play Three, or do you choose the Dodge Round?
Answer
Dodge Round. Five Taroks pass the count, but the highest is the X: you hold no big Tarok (XV and up) and no Trull piece, so the hand does not meet the test for Three. A Three that falls scores its minus in your column and your Partner’s. The test asks for a big Tarok or a Trull piece as well as the count.
Rule: Take Three if you hold four Taroks or more before the exchange, with a big Tarok (XV and up) or a Trull piece among them. Only the Forehand chooses the Dodge Round, and only after everybody else has passed.
