- P2: One
Do you pass, bid Solo three, or bid the Beggar?
Answer
Pass. Ten of your cards are low and all four suits are there, but the Skus wins every trick it falls into unless the Moon and the Pagat fall into the same trick, and you cannot steer that. A Tarok lead, or a lead in a suit you no longer hold, forces it out, and that trick loses the Beggar. Two Taroks are far from the count for Solo three as well.
Rule: Bid the Beggar if you hold a four-suited hand with no bare high face waiting to win a trick you don’t want. The Pagat is your safest Tarok here: it never beats another Tarok, and the rules keep it in your hand until it is your last one. If the Skus and the Moon land in the same trick, your forced Pagat wins it, and your Beggar is lost.
